SOTM March: Kiani

Picture
Name: Kiani M.P. Corpuz
Major: Creative Writing
Hometown: Haleiwa, HI

Favorite Quote: “I don’t want to remind you of anyone. I want to be the first me you’ve ever met.”

Fun Fact (About YOU): I stand at 4’10” but my attitude stands at 6’5”

What’s your favorite memories with sisters?
On our way to my first sisterhood retreat, our car missed the turn and we got lost pretty much surrounded by the forest in the dark.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, what would it be?
Tahiti and Aotearoa

Do you have a favorite movie or book, and why?
I no longer have a specific favorite book because I’m introduced to many different genres because of my major. If I had to choose a favorite book it would be “The Truth About Forever” by Sarah Dessen. I read it in middle school and that’s what sparked my love for books

What’s the best advice you can give someone going to college?
Have all the fun you want, but always remember you came to college for an education first.

Kiani! Congratulations on SOTM! What’s your secret to success?
I do things without wanting anything in return. I work hard in my organization because I’m always thinking about my future sisters and the success of the house.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Hopefully living in Northern California (Bay Area/Yay Area hey hey) and starting off in a publishing company after my much needed break from responsibility and regaining my sanity after 4 years of nonstop stress.

What are three things you love about being here (in Pullman, at WSU, being a Chi Sig, etc.)?
  1. My sisters
  2. Being able to say that I contributed to my sorority growing and becoming a better organization in general
  3. Creating the whole college experience each day

If you had the chance to do ANYTHING once without worrying about money or limitations, what would you do?
I would make my dream come true. Edit and publish the next greatest book series (Twilight, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, etc.) and give back to my parents because they do so much for me.

Any motivational message to give the world?
I have something in common with Chi Sigs at the moment and it’s that great things come in small packages, hehe.
